About

Tracing back to the 1840s, when the Duchess of Bedford requested her servant bring her something to tide over that 'sinking feeling' until dinnertime, afternoon tea remains one of life's special moments. Celebrate the sumptuous tradition of afternoon tea as it was intended to be enjoyed, in the gorgeous Georgian surrounds of the Pump Room.

Let us take you on a journey through its' history and traditions, with a presentation from afternoon tea expert Gillian Walnes-Perry. Gillian will be hosting a one-off talk on the social history of this quintessentially British ritual, accompanied by a lavish afternoon tea with your choice of loose-leaf house teas or fairtrade coffee. Why not really treat yourself and add a glass of English Sparkling Wine – the Duchess herself would have approved.

Tickets: £53 per person, or £60 per person with a glass of English Sparkling Wine
