About

Dukes offers our guests the chance to stay at one of the city’s most prestigious street addresses.

This beautiful boutique 17 bedroom bed and breakfast hotel occupies two magnificent Georgian townhouses on Great Pulteney Street, one of the finest boulevards in England, and is a mere 5 minute walk from the centre of this wonderful World Heritage City.

Dukes specialises in exceptional service and a sensational breakfast, and it is their reputation and emphasis on service and unforced hospitality, towards all guests, that rests at the heart of this wonderful property.

Dukes does accept well behaved dogs providing the room available is suitable for pets.

Snug Double
Our two Snug doubles, more contemporary in style, are tucked beneath the Georgian mansard roof, accessed via six flights of stairs. These ‘cosy’ bedrooms offer, three sided bed access, writing table, storage and a chair with en-suite shower facilities. These are our functional rooms, fit for purpose and with an emphasis on value for money. Most suitable for an overnight stay whilst on a shopping trip to Bath, a ‘stop over’ for the Rugby; horse racing or a peaceful sanctuary in preparation for a business meeting. The rooms offer restricted views of ‘Mary Poppins’ chimney pots. With access to all guest house facilities these rooms are ideal for one person or a happy, relaxed couple.

Standard Double
Comfortably proportioned, with large sashed windows, we have three, well appointed standards on offer. Two are south facing overlooking the quiet, well stocked courtyard garden. A third room has views over Great Pulteney Street. All three rooms have the convenience of an en-suite shower with the Abercorn on the ground floor offering greatest accessibility (suitable for guests with limited mobility). We will allocate to you the best room available at the time of reservation. Should you have a specific room preference or personal requirement please make a note in the 'comment' section of the booking page.

Superior Double
These rooms are as you might expect from a glorious Georgian town house. High ceilings, sash windows and intricate plaster cornicing. We have furnished them with good beds, comfortable armchairs, wardrobes with wooden hangers, in fact all the things you would desire for a two, three night stay in your home away from home. We will allocate to you the best room available at the time of reservation. Should you have a specific room preference or personal requirement please make a note in the 'comment' section of the booking page.

Deluxe Double
The Automobile Association or ‘AA’ of Great Britain defines a ‘suite’ as a combination of two or more inter-connected rooms. Many make the claim, though all too often few deliver! Our deluxe doubles comprise of three separate rooms, a generous bedroom, a separate sitting area and a bathroom – no less, no more. We will allocate to you the best room available at the time of reservation. Should you have a specific room preference or personal requirement please make a note in the 'comment' section of the booking page.

Four Poster
For those wishing to indulge in a little Georgian splendour, these rooms may just qualify ! Over 300 square feet in area, more the size of a small apartment, these rooms are memorable. For that special anniversary, to celebrate a birthday or business achievement, these rooms offer ‘that little bit more’. With delightfully high ceilings, magnificent rattling sash windows, these rooms are the zenith of what this spectacular Georgian property is able to offer.

Accessibility
The houses were built in 1798 and are Grade I listed. Owing to their age and listed restrictions, there are some features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. There are two ground floor bedrooms which have a level entry walk in shower, grab rails around shower (vertical and horizontal) and a pull down seat.
