New Real Ale and Jazz Racenight tickets go on sale

7th March 2011

Tickets for the brand new Real Ale and Jazz Racenight on Friday 3rd June go on sale this Thursday (10th March).

In previous years the fixture has been the Annual Beer Festival racenight at the course, but for 2011 the decision was taken to rebrand the popular Friday night fixture as a Real Ale and Jazz Racenight.

The evening will provide racegoers with a selection of fantastic local ales, as well as great beers, cider and wine available on course. In addition to the evenings racing, there will be live music throughout the evening to keep racegoers entertained and the night will be topped off with Bath’s very own ‘Park Lane Big Band’ who will be performing a selection of popular jazz, swing and blues after the racing.

Holly Glover, General Manager at Bath Racecourse said “The new Real Ale and Jazz Racenight kick starts our summer evening racing fixtures. I really can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday evening in June than sipping a cold drink on the champagne lawn, watching live music and not forgetting having a flutter on the racing!

“We decided to change the existing beer festival into a real ale and jazz racenight to widen the appeal of the event and offer a more sophisticated experience. Rather than tribute acts who have performed after racing in the past we have instead opted for a local big band with a total of 20 performers on stage who will be performing some classic jazz, blues and swing – old and new. They sound fantastic and definitely fit the bill for this new evening.

Warmley based Bath Ales have once again been confirmed as the title sponsors for the evening.

Tickets will be available to buy for this new event from Thursday 10th March and start from £10 per person for a ticket in the centre course picnic enclosure. Further details and tickets can be found at www.bath-racecourse.co.uk or by calling the racecourse on 01225 424609.
