Local vineyard wins awards

20th June 2011

Three local wines from Quoins Organic Vineyard near Bradford on Avon have won awards in the UK Vinegrowers Association annual contest.  The vineyard owner, Alan Chubb, will attend the prestigious presentation event at the House of Lords on Tuesday 12 July. Three Quoins wines have been recognised - The Orion 2008 vintage has won a silver medal, while the Orion 2009 and the Madeleine Angevine 2009 have won bronze medals. This is the fourth year running that vintages from the Quoins vineyard have won awards.

“I’m delighted that our hard work and attention to quality at every stage has been recognised in this way”, said vineyard owner, Alan Chubb. “English wines are going from strength to strength, and it’s great to be part of their success. I’m really looking forward to the awards ceremony, and enjoying that fantastic Thameside view, too!”

The vineyard at Little Ashley is open to the public for tours, tastings and sales every Sunday from 12-5pm throughout the summer. Quoins wines are available at all regional Waitrose stores, as well as local outlets including the Bradford on Avon Co-operative store, Ruby Red Wine Store and Hartley Farm Shop.
