Visit Bath Opens New Visitor Information Centre and Bath Box Office

Visit Bath officially opened its new Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and Bath Box Office today in a ceremony attended by Wera Hobhouse, Bath MP and West of England Mayor, Tim Bowles.

The VIC, one of the busiest in the country, provides advice, tickets and information on Bath and the surrounding area. The new location – at Bridgwater House on Terrace Walk, overlooking Parade Gardens and the Bath Skyline – is ideally situated to welcome in bus and coach tours to the city and expects to see around 500,000 visitors during the course of the year.

David James, Chief Executive of Visit Bath, said: “This is an exciting new development for Visit Bath and reflects the importance of the visitor economy to Bath. We’re grateful to both Wera Hobhouse MP and Tim Bowles for attending today and appreciate their support in all that we’re trying to do.

“The sleek design of the new Visitor Information Centre allows us to be more digitally interactive and offer an enhanced online retail, ticketing and tours service. Bath Box Office now has a significant presence within the centre, reflecting our partnership with Bath Festivals. Supporting local businesses is also extremely important to us, so we will continue to sell products from local companies such as Bath Gin, Alice Tate, Richard Briggs and Blockhouse Bath.”

New facilities will include touch screens and marketing opportunities for Visit Bath members.

The official opening of the VIC took place on Friday to coincide with English Tourism Week (17th–25th March 2018).
