Bath Tourism Plus (BTP) is the official destination marketing organisation for Bath and the surrounding area.
Located in the heart of the city, at Abbey Chambers, the company took over the management of tourism promotion from Bath & North East Somerset Council in October 2003. It takes full responsibility for co-ordinating the work of a busy Tourist Information Centre, the marketing of Bath and the surrounding area to leisure and business travellers, PR activity to attract the nation's top travel writers and overseas media, a conference and venues booking service, as well as the development of Bath's official tourism internet site. www.visitbath.co.uk
In addition, a rolling programme of research measures the visitor experience in Bath and the surrounding area.
In June 2004 Bath Tourism Plus introduced a membership scheme for tourism businesses, thereby establishing a ground-breaking partnership between the public and private sector. The scheme now numbers some 390+ members and provides access to a wide range of commercially-focussed benefits and services, including marketing and promotion, and optional joint membership with South West Tourism, the regional tourist board.

South West Tourism
South West Tourism is the official tourist board for the South West of England and is the lead body representing the seven counties of the South West region, covering the former Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, the Isles of Scilly, Somerset and Wiltshire.
As a membership organisation South West Tourism is supported directly by approximately 4,500 commercial members (representing over 7,000 tourism businesses) and forms the centre of a three-way partnership between private enterprise, local and central government.
Through BTP's membership programme, businesses in the BA1 - 3 postcode areas are able to opt for a joint membership package to include a specially negotiated inclusive 'Tourism Marketing Membership' of South West Tourism, with other SWT services accessible at a discounted rate. Members outside the BA1 - 3 postcodes are eligible for the BTP membership package only.
VisitBritain
BTP also works closely with VisitBritain, the national tourist board responsible for marketing England domestically as well as Britain internationally. Through VisitBritain's business and press offices in 31 countries we are able to target the most attractive markets worldwide, whilst the VisitEngland marketing campaigns allow us to reach the domestic visitor market.
