An evening of English classics. Elgar’s miniatures represent both a lost age of Edwardian innocence and the impending darkness of the Great War. We welcome back Michael Collins for Gerald Finzi’s evocative and intensely moving Clarinet Concerto, coupled with Britten’s witty early symphony for strings.

Jason Thornton will give a pre-concert talk at 6:30pm at the Assembly Rooms.
