Tea may be the British national beverage but the habit of taking full afternoon tea belongs to a more leisurely era. However, with the perfectly preserved Georgian terraces of Bath it is easy to travel back in time and imagine a genteel gathering for tea.

For a real taste of Georgian life, take tea in the Jane Austen Regency Tea rooms, or to appreciate the stunning countryside surrounding the city, take tea at one of the many welcoming tea rooms you will find nestled in many of the quaint villages and market towns in the Bath area.
For an alternative to the traditional scone, visit Sally Lunn's Refreshment House, where you can enjoy an afternoon tea made from a Sally Lunn bun - one of Bath's local delicacies.
