GG's Steak House & Grill

Type: Restaurant

GGs Steakhouse & Grill occupies the same building previously known as Il Tocco d’Italia.

In an industry that, these days, seems intent on constantly trying to invent new dishes, it is comforting to find a restaurant going back to basics and getting them absolutely right.

The all new GG’s Steakhouse and Grill is exactly that, tapping into the long established British love affair with great steaks, top quality grilled meats and the freshest possible fish.

Of course this cannot be done without top quality produce to start with. Restaurant owner Glyn is rightly proud to be able to say that all meat is sourced locally, and right from the start is handled and aged specifically for GG’s. This includes dry aging beef for up to 28 days, a process now largely disappeared since the arrival of vacuum packing and supermarket requirements. It is true when people say meat doesn’t taste as good as it used to do.

GG’s offers 4 different cuts of steak, as well as mutton, pork, chicken and fish. The signature steak is the classic New York Porterhouse. Dry aged and simply the tastiest possible steak, available in 12oz and 20oz. The fillet, striploin and ribeye are all available by the ounce as they cut these to order. The side order process is made simple, order any dish and included in the price is a choice of 2 sides from a selection of 5.

With a lunch menu and dessert section harking back to established favourites, GG’s will undoubtedly appeal to anyone seeking high quality produce, at realistic prices, being prepared very well.

The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch for a classic roast.
