Things to do for Families
If you're looking for ideas for the summer holiday or half-term, take a look at our suggestions for some great days out for the whole family in Bath and the surrounding countryside.
The beautifully preserved Roman Baths is a place for the whole family to enjoy. See the remains of the ancient Roman temple and bathing complex based around Britain’s only natural hot spring. Every afternoon there are Roman costumed characters and the kids can enjoy listening to the children's audio tour during their visit.
Or, spend the day on the river and hire a boat from Bath Boating Station and enjoy a fun day of rowing, punting or canoeing.
Alternatively, enjoy a fun day out at Longleat where you can see giraffes, zebras, lions and many more exciting animals as you drive through the Longleat Safari Park. The fun doesn't stop there with lots more attractions such as an adventure castle, train ride and hedge maze.
This summer discover the Lions of Bath, 100 life-size lion sculptures have taken to the streets, each individually decorated. Buy a £1 Safari Map from the Bath Tourist Information Centre and see how many lions your children can spot.
