Museum of East Asian ArtThe Museum of East Asian Art offers a wide-range of workshops and in house activities for children and teenagers alike. During half term children can make oragami paper animals or design there own ceramics based on animals from the Chinese Zodiac.

 

Holburne MuseumThe Holburne Museum of Art houses a rich collection of silver, sculpture, furniture and porcelain as well as important paintings by Turner and Gainsborough. The Museum is especially child friendly with regular workshops for children to try new materials whilst their parents get time off to explore Bath. These workshops are generally inspired by the current exhibitions. This half term children can design there own t-shirts or draw and print with silk screens.

 

Roman BathsThe Roman Baths is a place for the whole family to enjoy. During half term and summer holidays there is a programme of events for the whole family - the family drop-in activities are free once on site (normal admission charges apply). Create a mosaic mirage of the Roman Baths using wax crayons, pencils or coloured paper - take part in one of the many events and find out more about life in Roman Times.

 

The fun doesn't stop at the city boundary - with all manner of events taking place around the region there is plenty to keep the whole family occupied!

 

Glastonbury AbbeyWhenever you visit Glastonbury Abbey from April to October, you will find characters from history, eager to talk with you and share with you the legends that have made Glastonbury Abbey renowned across the country, and across the world. During half-term, children can learn about the local wildlife and listen to stories about King Arthur.

 

Joust at Berkeley CastleBerkeley Castle is renowned for re-enactments and living history. The castle has hosted joustings, battles and recreating sieges from history. In the summer this year the castle will re-enact medievel siege machines.

Bertinet KitchenChildren interested in learning to cook are in for a treat at the Bertinet Kitchen with hands on classes for children over seven and classes with parents for younger ones. There are unaccompanied classes (primarily during the school holidays for children from 7yrs up) and parent and children classes for those who are a little younger or who are not yet confident enough to come along on their own. There are also survival courses for school leavers to help them learn to fend for themselves and on a budget.
