First Great Western customers travelling to the cities of Bath and Bristol now have a choice of special offers at many of the top tourist attractions and leisure venues across the two cities, with the train operator's popular '2for1' scheme.
The '2for1' scheme offers discounts at a wide range of tourist attractions throughout Bath including the Roman Baths, the Herschel Museum of Astronomy, the Jane Austen Centre and Prior Park Landscape Gardens as well as many in Bristol. Discounts are also available at many popular restaurants and hotels in both cities.
With more people than ever using the train for leisure purposes, First Great Western have worked closely with tourist attractions and marketing organisations Bath Tourism Plus and Destination Bristol to be able to offer these discounts for passengers. They offer great savings and with half term just around the corner, they are a great way to take the children somewhere for a day out or even a weekend away at a fraction of the normal price.
If you're planning on taking advantage of the '2for1' offers during half term, you can save even more money with a Family Railcard with 1/3 off most standard class adult tickets and 60 per cent off standard class child tickets. Up to four adults and four children can travel at the discounted price and they don't have to be related. Children must be aged five to 15 (under five's travel free) and at least one named adult and one child must be travelling together for the whole journey.
The current '2for1' offers will run until May 2008. Passengers are advised to visit the First Great Western web site to buy tickets online and for further information about the Family Railcard and details of the '2for1' offers available.
