Countdown to Bath Christmas Market begins
Bath Tourism Plus, organisers of Bath's ever popular Christmas Market are already beginning the final countdown to the event. There is now just 4 weeks to go - Bath Christmas Market starts trading at 10.00am on Thursday 29th November, continuing through to Sunday 9th December, offering the perfect Christmas shopping experience.
Encouraging approximately 200,000 visitors to the city each year, Bath Christmas Market is the premier Christmas shopping event in the South West. This year, the market will be welcoming over 120 retailers to the city to sell unique, handmade and locally sourced products - food items and hampers, toys, decorations, clothing, home ware - everything you could wish for when preparing for the upcoming festive celebrations.
All of the stallholders have been confirmed for the 2007 Christmas Market now, and a list of those retailing can be found on the website www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk, and in the 'Winter Highlights' brochure, which acts as the programme for the event and is available from Bath Tourist Information Centre (or download here).
The entertainment programme, which adds to the festive atmosphere of the event, is due to be confirmed within the next two weeks, and will include a host of local entertainers - musicians, carol singers and choirs to bring a musical interlude for those resting after a good shopping session.
Bath & North East Somerset Council is proceeding with their new coach strategy, which Bath Tourism Plus is helping to promote, and hopefully this will help to reduce congestion in the city this year. Bath Tourism Plus are also helping to reduce congestion by working with First Great Western Trains, Bath & North East Somerset Council's Park & Ride Services and First Bus to strongly promote the message to leave the car behind when visiting the market.
