Theatre Royal Launches 'Storm on the Lawn 2007'

The search is underway for cast and crew to take part in one of the biggest events in the Theatre Royal Education Department's annual calendar. Storm on the Lawn is due to begin its tenth year, with a brand new production of one England's oldest epics, Beowulf, and places for performers and technicians on this prestigious summer school are still available.

Each year, the Theatre Royal's annual summer school brings together a cast of 60 young people, and a team of young technicians to work with a group of professional theatre directors, choreographers, musicians and designers. On Monday 6th August, around 100 people will gather at Prior Park College to begin work on the play - a huge array of musical, acting and dancing rehearsals will take place simultaneously while the technical team transforms the College's ball court into an outdoor theatre, and the wardrobe department creates more than one hundred costumes. Just 16 days later, the audience will arrive, to be treated to an epic tale of monsters, rascals, dreamers, heroes, villains and their mothers, in this brand new adaptation of the mythical horror story, as the production runs from 22nd - 26th August.

For information on how to get involved and take up one of the few remaining performance or technical places in this years Storm on the Lawn project, please contact the Education Administrator on 01225 823 433 or e-mail egg.reception@theatreroyal.org.uk
