The Museum of East Asian Art is pleased to announce its participation in the National Campaign to get everyone drawing throughout October 2007. The Big Draw has been an exciting and popular activity that the Museum has joined in on for some years now, and it has always been a great success.
Drawing helps us think and observe the world around us, allowing each individual to be creative regardless of age or experience.
This year, visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to contribute to a collective story on our giant storyboard. The story will take direction from whoever wishes to join in the fun, drawing their very own weird and wonderful characters inspired from the museums current exhibitions - 'The Cast of Characters' and 'the Rising Stars of Manga'.
Participants will also have the unique opportunity to have their work displayed in the Museum.
Visitors will be able to follow our trail around the Museum.
This year the theme is 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly'. This trail will give points to focus on in the Museum collection, along with activities including a very special version of the popular game 'Guess Who'.
There will be a new shadow puppet theatre in one of the exhibition rooms, where shadow characters can be manipulated and used to make up stories and demonstrate their decorative styles and shapes.
