'Bath & beyond 2006' - Official Guide highlights Bath as a spa destination

Bath Tourism Plus is celebrating the launch of its new 2006 annual destination guide to Bath & beyond. The printed guides, which focus on the area as a heritage destination dedicated to well being and healthy living , were delivered to the city's Tourist Information Centre in Abbey Churchyard just before Christmas for immediate distribution.

Bath & beyond 2006 is a 50 page A4-sized guide to Bath & North East Somerset featuring 185 accommodation providers, as well as providing a wealth of information on local attractions and practical advice for visitors. The guide features festival listings, rugby and horse racing fixtures, exhibitions and major events, alongside special sections on shopping in the area, eating and drinking, outdoor activities and other places to visit, including Stonehenge, Longleat and Bristol. The publication also contains a useful city centre map showing accommodation, museums and attractions, car parks, Park and Ride services, taxi ranks and coach drop-off points as well as sports facilities and churches. A regional map shows villages and attractions in the area.

100,000 copies of the Bath & beyond guide have been printed for distribution within the UK and USA markets. They will be mailed in direct response to brochure requests generated via the official tourism website www.visitbath.co.uk as well as from special advertising and marketing campaigns, telephone and postal enquiries. For the first time 8,000 copies of the guide have been earmarked for distribution through VisitBritain's 'Britain and London Visitor Centre' in Regent Street, London.

Giles Ingram, Marketing & Operations Manager for Bath Tourism Plus says:

"We are very proud of the 2006 Bath & beyond Guide which is the definitive guide for visitors to the region. In this single publication we showcase the diversity of Bath & the surrounding area, affording visitors a quick and easy reference for things to see and do, as well as street maps to locate them all readily.

Our front cover image for 2006 shows the Roman Baths at their most spectacular, as we wanted to remind visitors of the very essence of the destination - its thermal water. In 2006 we hope to finally see the spa put back into Bath and the natural waters once more in use. We are still reminding visitors to check for details of the opening of Thermae Bath Spa, but we are optimistic that 2006 will be a big year for Bath and beyond."
