Opened in April 2006, The Residence is a new concept in accommodation for Bath. Neither a hotel nor a bed & breakfast, it brings together the exclusivity of a private club and the service of a modern hotel within a large Georgian house near the city centre.

Offering 5 individually decorated bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, plus an 'Emperor' Suite, guests also have the use of a steam room and sauna, conservatory bar with heated terrace and Italianate gardens with boule piste, croquet lawn, two fountains and a summer house. All rooms offer mini bars, HD televisions and feature a cutting edge sound system, whilst some rooms also feature state-of-the-art CD/DVD players. There is also WI FI access throughout the house. The West Wing of the house can also be rented as a private two/three bedroom, two bathroom suite.

Breakfast is served in the bright and vibrant Kitchen, the heart of the house, where up to 16 guests can start, or indeed finish, the day.

With a library for quiet contemplation, a private dining room to seat 12, and high tech meeting facilities, The Residence aims to provide guests with everything they need for business or pleasure.

Cookery Courses at The Residence - come and join top chef, Paul Burrows for a series of day long cookery courses. Each of the sessions ends with a three-course meal, prepared by you. All courses are suitable for both the keen amateur and the complete novice. You will be tackling a variety of dishes giving you ideas for starters, mains and desserts. The courses cost £85 each and generally run from 10am to 4.30pm. Places are strictly limited to eight only.

Flower Arranging Courses - come and join Andrew Baker of Jacaranda for a day and learn how to make your own flower arrangements. Under the tuititon of Andrew you will create your very own beautiful arrangement that you will be able to take away at the end of the day. The course will teach you all you need to know about buying, arranging and caring for flowers. Lunch and a glass of wine is included in the price of the class and classes generally run from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Places strictly limited.
