Theatres

Theatres in Bath offer a wide selection of performances to cater for all tastes. The main theatre in Bath is the Theatre Royal offering a year round programme of top-quality drama, opera, comedy, dance and frequent Sunday concerts. The Ustinov Theatre offers a more cutting edge programme of performances in Bath. For children, young people and their families there is the Egg Theatre.

Cinemas

Spend a relaxing evening at one of the two cinemas in Bath. Our favourite, The Little Theatre Cinema is the only remaining independent cinema in Bath. Alternatively, watch the latest blockbuster movie at the Bath Odeon Cinema on James Street West.

Comedy

Laugh the night away at Komedia's Krater Comedy Club every Saturday night. Komedia is a new live entertainment venue in Bath offering a mixed programme of cabaret, music and comedy seven days a week. Or, have a chuckle on a Sunday evening at The Porter's Comedy Cavern. If you are looking for something more unusual join Bizarre Bath, a nightly tour of Bath with a comic twist. And make a date in your diary for the new Bath Comedy Festival (1st - 12th April 2009).

Live Music

Bath's exciting live music scene includes regular sessions day and night at many of the pubs and bars, from electronica to Irish folk, you will be spoilt for choice. Moles Club plays host to numerous local, national and international bands. The Porter, an intimate venue with live music four nights a week. Komedia, a new live entertainment venue with one of the largest, most diverse entertainment programmes in the UK. For a more relaxed atmosphere The Green Park Brasserie and Bar provides four evenings of jazz entertainment every week. Or, you can enjoy a cool beer and fresh food listening to the sound of jazz music at Gascoyne Place every Sunday evening.

Pubs

From traditional pubs serving the best of British ale, to contemporary gastro pubs, you are sure to find the perfect place to spend the evening, either in the city centre or in the surrounding areas of Bath.

Bars

Bath has a wide mix of contemporary, modern and buzzing bars. Splash out on cocktails in Opa or Sub 13. Or, catch up with friends and have a relaxing drink in Gascoyne Place or Lambrettas Bar.

Nightclubs

Party late into the night at one of the many nightclubs in Bath. Dance until the early morning at our favourites, Moles Club or Defter Krug. Hang out with the student population at Po-na-nas. Or, for a more sophisticated clubbing experience head to the Blue Rooms or the newest club in Bath, Second Bridge.

Alternative Entertainment

Relax with a spa session at Thermae Bath Spa, open until 10pm every evening (last entry 7:30pm). Or, explore the Roman Baths by torchlight on a summers evening, open until 10pm in July and August (last entry 9pm).
