The Bath Comedy Festival has been designed to bring the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath to life with a colourful, vibrant, inclusive and dedicated mix of comedy – in all its many guises.
Starting on April Fool’s Day the exciting programme will take place in a fantastic selection of venues and will spill out onto Bath's historic streets in a hubbub of anticipation and laughter.
From stand up to street theatre, farce to silent movies, mime to cartoons, from buskers to celebrities, it will be a celebration of the art of making people laugh.
Bath’s famous Natural Theatre Company will be leading the way at the start of proceedings on April Fools’ Day with some new street theatre pieces devised specially for the Festival.
Drawing on the city’s history there will also will be a Roman invasion of humour and a witty take on Jane Austen in a series of promenades.
Bath Spa University’s Comedy Academy will be rejuvenating the works of Titus Maccius Plautus, ancient Rome’s most popular comic playwright over the Easter Weekend.
Whilst a Jane Austen Promenade with a witty twist will take place most evenings throughout the Festival.
