The British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust (BHEST) will be bringing 20 children from Norton Hill School to Bath Racecourses season finale on Wednesday 22nd October, in a scheme which aims to teach children aspects of the National Curriculum in a practical environment.
The scheme was developed back in 2000 aimed to encourage a new, younger audience to the delights of horse racing through various educational sessions based on the National Curriculum.
The programme enables children to be taught their core subjects in a diverse and stimulating environment making the learning process much more fun.
On the day the children will undertake a variety of activities whereby mathmatics will be included. This includes visiting the weighing room, viewing some of the equipment and watching a live race.
Bath Racecourse season finale is on Wednesday 22nd October. Gates open 12:00pm, first race 2:00pm and last race 5:00pm. Tickets start at £8.00 for the picnic enclosure and can be bought online at www.bath-racecourse.co.uk or by calling the racecourse office on 01225 424609.
