Type: Performance
As sure as there will be frost on the rooftops and spice wafting from the markets, the City of Bath Bach Choir will bring the magic of Christmas alive in Bath with three consecutive nights of carols and Christmas music, performed at the candlelit Pump Room on December 16, 17 and 18.
In this his 20th year of conducting the much-loved annual carol concerts, maestro Nigel Perrin has put together a delightful programme which gives the audience a good sing as well as the chance to hear this accomplished choir perform a collection of engaging seasonal numbers, old and new.
The programme will include the David Willcocks Birthday Carol, in celebration of the 90th birthday this Christmas of the choir’s famous president.
The CBBC Junior Choir under its new conductor, Adrienne Hale, will also be taking the stage.
The Carols by Candlelight concerts have become a fixture in Bath’s Christmas calendar, enjoyed by huge audiences of all ages, some local, some visiting the city for Christmas shopping and to wander through the colourful, traditional Christmas market that enlivens the streets during December.
Tickets, £16 (concessions for children under 16), are available through Bath Festivals Box Office (see contacts box).
