The Conigre is a charming, wisteria-clad 400 year old farmhouse with converted stables, set on the outskirts of Melksham. This beautiful grade II listed House has 8 ensuite bedrooms, 5 doubles, 1 twin and 2 singles, each individually decorated for your comfort. The main house has 2 Double rooms and 1 Twin, all on the 1st floor and our converted Stables offers a further 5 ground floor bedrooms. Some of our rooms can be converted to Family Rooms.

The Conigre is our family home, as well as a business and we pride ourselves on offering a friendly welcome in a relaxed environment. Children of all ages are welcome.

Our Restaurant offers Modern British cuisine using locally sourced produce wherever possible, complimented by an interesting wine list from around the globe. Please note that bookings are essential.

We have a cosy bar and large guest conservatory where you can relax and enjoy the views of our peaceful garden. The Conigre also has a large function room where we can cater for up to 50 guests for a formal meal or 80 guests for a buffet. It is ideal for any special occasion and also serves as a light airy environment for business meetings and conferences. We specialise in small, private functions where our guests are able to enjoy exclusive use of our function room and our conservatory or indeed, the whole Hotel, if accommodation is required.

Set in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, The Conigre offers the perfect location for business or pleasure. We are ideally based for exploring the wealth of attractions nearby with Bath, Bradford-on-Avon, Lacock and Castle Combe all within a 20 minute drive. Longleat, Salisbury and Stonehenge are within easy reach and we are 15 minutes from Junction 17 of the M4, giving swift access to Swindon and Bristol. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Road Directions

From Junction 17 M4, take A350 signposted Chippenham until you reach Melksham. At first big roundabout take 2nd exit, following A350. At the 2nd roundabout, take 1st exit signposted Town Centre. You are now on Semington Road and the Hotel will be found 0.25 miles along on the left, after passing the Fire station, Total Petrol station, West End pub and Vets.

Public Transport Directions

From Chippenham train station, short walk to Chippenham bus station take bus 234 Mon - Sat 1 minute past hour to Melksham Market Place, Nov and Dec operates Sundays too.
Also bus X34 runs between Chippenham and Melksham on the hour every hour Mon - Fri.
On arrival at Melksham Market Place, turn left towards the roundabout and take second exit, King Street (Refa Tandoori is on the corner). This becomes Semington Road and we are 5 minutes' walk on the right hand side.
Taxi takes 15 - 20 minutes.

Melksham Train Station - a very limited service runs from Chippenham, Southampton or Gloucester. Call 0871 200 22 33 for timetable information. We are a five minute taxi ride from Melksham station.
