Type: Vineyard

Quoins Vineyard offer specialised tours and tastings for groups of 10 or more. The tour includes a welcoming glass of wine followed by a brief outline of the history of the vineyard and an explanation of the organic management methods that are followed on the vineyard. There is then a stroll around the vineyard and the range of exotic fruits and bushes (there are over 100). Finally guests can sample the range of vintages and have a chance to purchase the wines at farm-gate prices. Other fruits and preserves produced on site will be available according to the season. As a special treat tour groups can order beforehand gourmet luncheons or picnics that are produced by a neighbouring Farm Shop and Cafe to enjoy in the vineyard..

Quoins Vineyard also has open days on May 13th, June 3rd, 5th Aug, 2nd Sept and 23rd Sept during 2012. These open days are designed especially for the public to learn and taste the wines and to sample the range of exotic fruits that are also grown on the farm. There will be guided tours from 3pm (£5/pp) which will last an hour and a half. The tour includes a welcoming glass of wine, a guided tour of the vineyard with an explanation of the organic approach to wine production and the biodiversity within the vineyard. Finally visitors can sample a range of vintages wines and buy at special farm-gate prices.

If you are coming from Bath we can recommend a day trip by taking the train to Avoncliff and walking to the vineyard through the local lanes and pathways with stunning views. It will take about 1 hour of easy walking.

We are also open to the public for sales only throughout the week during the summer (phone beforehand 07835 265 082). The Vineyard is planted in 2002 on the southern limits of the Cotswolds limestone and is located at Little Ashley near Bradford-on-Avon where the Doomsday book records the presence of vineyards. The vineyard is one of only 7 commercially producing organic vineyards in the country. We produce between 3-4000 bottles/year. The grapes are produced under the Soil Association organic standards which restricts the use of artificial fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides. The making of the wines is also under organic standards which restrict additives and the amount of sulphites that are in the wines.

We produce wines 4 wines:
The ‘Orion’ white wine has been a national UKVA award winner every year since 2007. It has a pale lemon colour with notes of exoctic fruits. The wines gently grassy and herbaceous tones go well with cheese or white meats
The ‘Madeleine angevine’ white wine has also won UKVA awards in 2009 and 2010. This wine has a more rounded flavour with gentle citrusy tones which go well with cheese, white meats or fish.

Also recently released is the 2009 Rondo full bodied red wines which is now fully matured. We also now produce a light Rosé wine made from a blend of Seyval, Rondo and Regent. The wine has a hint of wild strawberry that goes well with light summery meals especially with the gourmet meals that we supply to our tour groups.
