John Bishop will join Matt Baker and Alex Jones to switch on the city’s Christmas Lights live on The One Show, broadcast live from Bath on Tuesday 13th November as part of this year’s One Show Rickshaw Challenge in aid of BBC Children in Need.
A team of young rickshaw riders, led by Matt will be passing through the World Heritage City of Bath where he will be welcomed by enthusiastic supporters cheering him on. The One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge for Children in Need will chart a route from Llandudno to London’s BBC Television Centre - a total of 411miles in eight days.
Matt Baker said "The Rickshaw Challenge is one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever taken on. These youngsters are going to have their work cut out for them. That’s why the public needs to get behind ‘Team Rickshaw’ and come out and cheer them on, I know from the challenge last year what a difference the public’s support can make. We need to get behind them as they strive to raise as much money as possible for BBC Children in Need."
Alex Jones who will be on stage for the switch-on and will be accompanying Team Rickshaw, said: “I’ve met all the team. They are a really inspiring bunch. It will be a real honour for Matt and I to be with them on their journey.”
John Bishop, who originally hails from Liverpool, shot to fame as a stand up comedian on shows such as BBC’s Live at the Apollo.
The event will start from 6pm with the show being broadcast live from 7pm in Milsom Street, Bath.
