Bath International Music Festival

Inaugurated in 1948, Bath International Music Festival has an illustrious artistic history and has long been a well-established event of national significance and international reputation. For two weeks the city’s many venues come alive with the sounds of classical music, international jazz, world and contemporary music, and free-to-the-public events.

The Bath International Music Festival will take place on 30 May - 10 June 2012. Orchestras and choirs, folk singers and jazz virtuosos, poets and actors join in the carnival atmosphere. This year we bring you magical opera and the circus (Mozart's - The Magic Flute and a celebration of Angela Carter), Olympic-sized talent (Benjamin Grosvenor, Alison Balsom, Courtney Pine) and Olympic-styled entertainment (Vivaldi's rarely performed L'Olimpiade and Adriano Adewale's Rio procession), epic Diamond Jubilee celebrations with Elgar and Walton, and with I Fagiolini singing Tallis - and a cast of thousands in our annual Party in the City.
