This Christmas, a magical new production of Heidi - A Goat's Tale takes to the stage at the egg theatre from Saturday 8th December to Sunday 13th January 2013. This highly visual and inventive production, suitable for audiences aged 6 years and over, tells the well-loved story of an irrepressible little girl with a big heart and features a herd of hysterically funny mountain goats.
A celebration of friendship, nature and family, this heart-warming Christmas treat is full of humour. In a side-splitting twist the classic Swiss story is told by a herd of goats, who find themselves acting out the tale. The adventures of Heidi, who changes the lives of everyone she meets, promises a thrilling and comical show featuring live music, yodelling, clog dancing and plenty of Alpine surprises.
Nominated for the Best Children’s Play in the TMA Awards 2009 and the Adrienne Benham Award for Children’s Theatre Writing 2010, this acclaimed new adaptation of Johanna Spyri's much-loved story, is written by Andrew Pollard and was originally performed by Northern Broadsides.
For this special show, designer Hayley Grindle will transform the egg’s auditorium into a glorious technicolour Alpine landscape, transporting audiences to the mountain tops, where a clock face becomes the moon, a bath tub becomes a toboggan and snow is falling.
