Rio Carnival Procession

A special Rio Carnival Procession will be making its way through the city of Bath on the 25th August 2012. The procession is being organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council alongside experienced carnival producers ArtReach and Mandinga Arts.

Rio Carnival Quest (23rd July for 5 weeks)
Local residents are encouraged to join in the celebrations and the carnival itself. There will be a series of family workshops taking place from 23rd July 2012 for 5 weeks, enabling people to assit the making of the costumes, learn Samba rythms and take part in the carnival finale.

The Procession (25th August 2012)
The carnival leaves the Holburne Museum at 2pm and heads along Great Pulteney St into the city centre via Grand Parade, winding along Cheap St, passed the Theatre Royal and along Upper Borough Walls before returning along Grand Parade and down North Parade to the Recreation Ground for 3.30pm.
