Mirror Mirror on the wall, which is the best panto of all? It has to be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Theatre Royal Bath, of course!
Olivier Award-winning theatre and television star Nichola McAuliffe will take centre stage alongside Dame extraordinaire Chris Harris in this year’s family pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The cast will also feature Bath’s own Jon Monie as Muddles and seven small actors playing the roles of Snow White’s friends and protectors, when the classic fairy-story is staged for only the second time ever in the Theatre Royal’s illustrious pantomime history from Thursday 13th December to Sunday 13th January 2012.
Snow White has skin as white as snow and lips as red as rubies. No wonder a magic mirror declares her to be ‘the fairest of them all’. But not in the view of her wicked stepmother, who flies into a jealous rage and demands her death. The beautiful princess is forced to flee to safety at the home of the seven dwarfs. But who is the curious old crone selling apples door to door? And can true love’s kiss really save the day?
Snow White is based on the stories of the Brothers Grimm and was made popular by Disney in 1937 in the first ever feature-length cartoon which became the biggest box office hit of its time. It has only ever been performed once before at the Theatre Royal – in the 1991/92 panto season.
