Five Top Picks for a Vegan Meal in Bath

Don’t worry about having to sacrifice your vegan diet when you visit Bath - there are plenty of places offering delicious vegan and vegetarian eats…

1. Yak Yeti Yak

There’s no need to compromise on flavour if you’re going vegan – Yak Yeti Yak have got you covered if you’re after an authentic Eastern experience. As the first solely Nepalese restaurant to open in the UK, the owners led the way back in 2004 in bringing fresh ingredients to the city, whether locally sourced from Bath, or straight from the paddy field in Nepal. Plant-based vegan and vegetarian options are given the same weighting on the menu as meat, meaning there are lots of flavourful options to choose from!

2. Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen

The secret ingredient in Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen’s recipes is passion – Head Chef Richard Buckley’s visually and deliciously stunning meals are all created out of a love of vegetables and plant-based food. From tempting choices ranging from butternut squash terrine to garlic dhal, and indulgent dark chocolate parfait, expect exciting flavours, colours and details, and sit back and relax in the knowledge that everything is taken care of on the vegan front.

3. Dough

You won’t have to give up the beloved pizza if you’re doing Veganuary. Dough, in The Corridor, pride themselves on their innovative creations when it comes to their pizza dough – it’s all in the name! Owner Emiliano Tunno really knows his stuff (he’s known as a ‘pizza acrobat’), and with bases ranging from hemp to turmeric and even seaweed, plus vegan substitutes for mozzarella, there’s no need to forgo pizza this January.

4. Sky Blue Café

Tucked away in the Chapel Arts Centre, this wholly vegetarian café is well worth a visit, whether for a pre or post-show treat, or for a relaxed lunch after a morning of shopping. Their made-to-order flatbreads and toppings and hearty soups and stews will definitely hit the spot if you’re after a filling vegan meal or snack.
