The festive season is just around the corner, bringing with it Bath Christmas Market and plenty more seasonal events. Back once again is Kingsmead Square Street Food Market, returning to the city-centre every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 29th November to 15th December. To whet your appetite, Sophie Bowden, from the team behind the event, tells us what and who to expect at this year’s Market.
Follow the aroma of delicious street food from the lively throng of Bath Christmas Market and you’ll find yourself in the bustling Kingsmead Square. We’re delighted to be bringing the family-friendly Street Food Market back to Bath and are excited to be delivering street food at its finest!
Complementing the fantastic array of food and drink already on offer at Kingsmead Square from local businesses including Society Café, The Kingsmead Kitchen, The Dark Horse and Boston Tea Party, fill hungry tummies with mouth-watering flavours and keep a look out for the following vendors – part of an ever-changing line-up of 18 stalls that will be at the Market each day…
Follow your nose and the smoky aromas of Murray May’s Istanbul-inspired kebabs served straight off their Turkish Mangal grill.
Be transported to the sunnier climes of Malaysia with Makasih, a family-run street food business serving up delicious Malaysian-fusion cuisine like flavourful fried chicken roti.
Perfect fare for a frosty day, warm up with Alp Mac’s Alpine mac and cheese topped with local charcuterie, pickles and croutons.
Good Food & Co
Take a trip to Sri Lanka and tuck into delicious black pork curry from Good Food & Co, a Bristol-based street food company with an entirely gluten and dairy-free menu.
Getting taste buds tingling, look out for Sosij's smoked cheddar and jalapeño sausages – the Bath-based traders are passionate about sausages, handcrafting artisan varieties with innovative flavours.
For a filling lunch, make for Spengler's Deli to try their Somerset salt beef Reuben sandwiches, inspired by the fast-paced foodie landscape of New York City.
The perfect comfort food, treat yourself to a sourdough grilled cheese toastie from Grate, packed with melted regional Somerset cheeses.
Great food needs great drinks and the Market's Moonshine Bar will be serving up some fantastically festive tipples. Think boozy hot chocolates, crisp local Pilsners and guest ales alongside favourites like organic mulled wine, spiced Somerset cider and plenty of soft options perfect for getting you into the holiday spirit.
We’ll also have all dietary requirements covered with lots of gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes available, and will be aiming to be more sustainable by using biodegradable and compostable packaging, eliminating single-use plastic and utilising green electricity to power the event. Don’t forget to bring your reusable Tupperware too.
Across the nine days there’ll also be a jam-packed programme of live music and DJs dishing out the festive tunes, so dig out your Christmas jumpers, dust off your dancing shoes and prepare to dive headfirst into a foodie wonderland!
