1. Bath Abbey

One of the most far-reaching views in Bath can be seen from the top of Bath Abbey on a Tower Tour. Climb the narrow, spiralling staircase and emerge on the rooftop to outstanding views across Bath’s skyline. Look out for the ancient, steaming Roman Baths, and for Thermae Bath Spa’s open-air rooftop pool.

2. Bath Skyline

Embark on a steep but worthwhile climb up Bathwick Hill, and walk the six-mile circular Bath Skyline route. Along the way, you’ll be treated to the most spectacular views over Bath. Don’t just take our word for it – it’s the National Trust’s most downloaded walk.

3. Alexandra Park

Located in the Bear Flat neighbourhood of Bath, Alexandra Park is a big open park with some of the most pleasing views in the city. We recommend visiting early in the morning when it’s quietest, but also at dusk when Bath Abbey is lit up like a shining beacon.

We couldn’t create a list of best views in Bath without mentioning the view of the Royal Crescent from Royal Victoria Park. Feast your eyes on the sweeping curves as it emerges from behind the trees. Look out for the colourful yellow door – a splash of colour on the formal Georgian masterpiece.

Grab a window seat in the winter, or relax on the terrace in the summer and soak up the vistas from this wonderful hilltop gastropub. The imaginative and hearty menu, coupled with outstanding views, make The Hare & Hounds a very special restaurant indeed.
