Things to Do in Bath this Autumn

Although summer isn’t quite over yet, we’re starting to look forward to autumn here at Visit Bath, and there are already a whole host of events on the calendar…

1. Celebrate All Things Foodie at the Great Bath Feast

One of Bath’s autumn highlights, this year’s Great Bath Feast is already promising to be a jam-packed affair. From 23rd September to 8th October, the city will play host to foodie events from a wealth of local restaurants, cafés and businesses, including special dinners, tastings, talks and markets. You’ll be able to try some tasty vegetarian dishes at Demuth’s Cookery School, sample champagne at the Abbey Hotel or party with pizza and a beer at the Bath Pizza Co., and much, much more.

Watch out for our Tenner Treats too – you’ll have the chance to snap up lots of special midweek meal offers, including lunches and dinners at some of Bath’s best restaurants, indulgent cream teas, and beer and wine deals, each for a pocket-friendly £10.
Don’t miss out on getting stuck in to Bath’s vibrant food and drink scene – take a look at the Great Bath Feast website for more information.

 2. Commemorate Bath’s Literary Heritage

Austenmania is currently sweeping the city with the Jane Austen Festival, on until 17th September. 2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the much-loved author’s death - some 4,000 people are expected to attend over 80 events (you might have spotted some in Period costume), making this year's festival bigger and better than ever.

Fans of The Gruffalo will have the chance to meet the author of the bestselling series, Julia Donaldson, writer of the How to Train Your Dragon books, Cressida Cowell, will also be heading to the city for the festival, as well as Bath’s own and much-loved author, Jacqueline Wilson.

Explore Bath’s beautiful countryside and celebrate the city’s stunning landscape, heritage and views at the first ever Bathscape Walking Festival.
