visitBath.co.uk editorial guidelines

A note on how we decide what to include
visitBath.co.uk is run by Bath Tourism Plus, the official destination marketing organisation for Bath and the surrounding area. We operate on a membership basis, which means that all the businesses on our site are paying us to be included. But don’t worry, most of the tourism businesses in the area are members and we certainly include more accommodation options than any other online travel agent, with over 200 accommodation options (that’s 100 more than Booking.com!)
We are a not for profit, public / private sector partnership organisation and on our membership structure allows us to continue to promote our beautiful city and surrounding area. With regards to listing information about non-members, we do share information about these businesses from time to time on our blog (see below) or in our lists.
You’ll notice some content around the website such as ‘Popular cycle routes’ or ‘Best roast dinners according to our Twitter followers’. These are lists based on what we consider are the best for this category, or based on genuine suggestions from our loyal followers on Twitter and Facebook. Make sure you’re following us and keep an eye out for the questions - you can then submit your own vote!
Our first ever blog follows on from the recently launched publication ‘theSource,’ providing the source of inspiring information and knowledge for all visitors. By including interviews with our lovely locals, insider tips and the odd guest post, we aim to offer authentic content to everyone who’s looking for it. All of the great stories and suggestions that were published in theSource magazine can now be found on theSource blog. Some blog posts may focus on individual businesses, others will educate readers on special events, provide top tips for spending your time wisely in our beautiful city or discovering the beautiful countryside on its doorstep. Comment functionality is coming soon, so you’ll be able to tell us what you think too!
How do I get on the website?
As mentioned above, you’ll need to join us a member. Not only does this give your business presence on the area’s busiest visitor website, but membership also provides access to our brochures, mobile app, PR activity, regular industry updates and a whole host of other opportunities. For more information about how you can benefit please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01225 322420.
