Kilver Court Designer Village

Description

Created by Mulberry founder and English designer Roger Saul, Kilver Court Designer Village is a unique designer retail outlet in the heart of Somerset. Situated within a regenerated textile mill, Kilver Court features an eclectic, fresh and constantly updated edit of the best in fashion, interiors and lifestyle, making it the ideal place for a fashion fix, chic home interiors or somewhere to relax. Kilver Court is home to over 40 designer brands which offer up to 60% off RRP all year round. There are stand-alone outlets for Rapha, Toast, L.K. Bennett, Jack Wills and Yves Delorme as well as a designer Emporium and Arcade featuring brands such as M.i.h Jeans, Joseph, Chinti & Parker, Bamford, Orlebar Brown and Whistles. Kilver Court is also home to the world-famous Mulberry Factory Shop – the iconic fashion label founded by Roger in the 1970’s. Visitors can shop an exclusive range of luxurious Mulberry bags, shoes and accessories at hugely discounted prices.

There is also The Great House offering a treasure trove of decorative items, home accessories, gifts and furniture, with brands such as Garden Trading, Neom Organics, Gisella Graham and Daylesford. Housed within The Great House is the Sharpham Park Farm Shop selling locally sourced, artisanal food and drink products including Black Cow vodka, Six O’clock gin and Godminster cheese, as well as Roger’s organic range of Spelt based products, Sharpham Park.

Behind the old mill complex is a stunning 3.5 acre garden, as seen on BBC Gardeners’ World and Escape to the Country. Highlights include a reproduction of George Whitelegg's Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winning rockery, parterre, organic vegetable garden, herbaceous borders and mill pond. Its most impressive feature is the 50ft, grade II listed Charlton Viaduct which provides a striking backdrop to the gardens.

Sitting adjacent to the gardens is the newly constructed garden nursery, which was completed in April 2016 after being almost entirely constructed from locally sourced, reclaimed materials. The nursery provides a sensory experience for garden lovers, featuring an eclectic mix of the very best plants from specialist plant suppliers and growers, as well as the eccentric and excellent in garden tools, furniture, gifts and collectables.

Also on site at Kilver Court is a restaurant and café. Visitors can choose from a range of light bites and homemade cakes in the Harlequin Café, or enjoy something more substantial in the Sharpham Pantry restaurant. The food served at Kilver Court is, wherever possible, locally sourced and freshly prepared, with many of the ingredients grown in the organic vegetable garden or made using organic Spelt grown on Roger’s Sharpham Park farm in nearby Street.

Living up to its name as the ‘cool county’, Kilver Court is close to many other local places of interest in Somerset. Situated within a 15 mile radius of Kilver is Babington House, Hauser & Wirth, The Talbot Inn, At the Chapel and The Pig Nr Bath. Kilver Court Designer Village and Gardens,  Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 5NF is open seven days a week 9.30am – 5.30pm (Monday – Saturday) and 10am – 5pm (Sunday and Bank Holidays).
