Bailey Balloons

About

Bailey Balloons are the oldest family run independent balloon company in the area, and have been operating for over 27 years.

Jo and Clive Bailey offer a friendly, personalised, and memorable flight experience- far more than just a balloon flight! They offer a 3-4 hour ballooning experience that invites you to help prepare for take-off, find out how the balloon works, enjoy about an hour’s flight with panoramic views of beautiful towns and rolling countryside, and relax with a glass of chilled champagne after the flight.

Balloon flights launch from Royal Victoria Park, just outside the heart of Britain’s finest Georgian city and beside the impressive Royal Crescent with the famous crescent of houses and the famous Royal Crescent Hotel.

Let their highly experienced pilots fly you over this beautiful city, with its world famous Roman Baths, Pump Rooms, and the spectacular Bath Abbey. Dependent on the wind direction you may fly over the wonderful Somerset countryside including many typical English villages such as Lacock, Castle Coombe, or the market town of Bradford-on-Avon. You may drift over the historic stones at Avebury and of course enjoy spectacular views of the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Why choose Bailey Balloons? Their reputation is founded on quality, safety and a personal approach to each client. Clive Bailey, Director and chief pilot of Bailey Balloons, coordinated and ran the flight control centre for David Hempleman-Adam's successful balloon flight across the Atlantic and his flight for the Gordon Bennett Gas Balloon Race for which he and David have received an award for from HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace. Clive is also a Director of the Bristol Balloon Fiesta in charge of 150 balloons and he recently flew Sir David Attenborough at high altitude over the Swiss Alps to record the introduction to his series Planet Earth II – see more here. They have Covid-19  Protocols in place and have the AA Covid Confident Accreditation and Visit England Good to Go award.

Flights take place April-October, but flight vouchers can be purchased all year round and are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase to encompass an entire flying season.

Contact Bailey Balloons directly in the office to enquire about flight availability.
