>> Travel to Stonehenge where you can wonder at the pre-historic standing stones, then visit Salisbury, home to an impressive cathedral with the tallest spire in Britain, oldest working clock in Europe and the world’s best preserved original Magna Carta. On your journey back to Bath stop at the bustling market town of Bradford on Avon.

wells>> Visit Glastonbury and discover a town steeped in Christian and Pagan legends. Explore Glastonbury Tor and the Abbey ruins - reputedly the birthplace of Christianity in England and associated with the legends of King Arthur. On your journey back to Bath visit the medieval city of Wells, this is England’s smallest city, famed for its impressive cathedral.  You could also stop at Radstock one of the best preserved former coal-mining towns in England; the Radstock Museum celebrates the lifestyle of the typical Somerset coalminer.

Bristol>> Spend a day in Bristol, just 15 minutes from Bath. Bristol is the second largest city in the south of England with a rich maritime heritage mixed with a contemporary, slightly alternative vibe. Bristol offers visitors a choice of experiences, enjoy the street art of Banksy or the iconic ships and bridges of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

>> Bath is set on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. Spend the day visiting Castle Combe, which has been voted the ‘Prettiest Village in England’ and explore the Cotswold countryside and the town of Tetbury. Afterwards, head to the nearby Wiltshire village of Lacock, where you can visit Lacock Abbey, a location used in the Harry Potter films.

>> Drive south from Bath and discover the designer village of Kilver Court. Here you will find designer shopping brands, beautiful gardens and even a relaxation centre. Start the morning browsing the shops before enjoying a snack at the Harlequin Cafe. Then spend the afternoon exploring the award-winning rock garden and the organic vegetable garden.

Cheddar Gorge>> To the west of Bath sits the dramatic Cheddar Caves and Gorge. Scale the cliffs on a rock climb or abseil or head underground to admire the stalactite cavern of Gough's cave - where Britain's oldest skeleton was once uncovered.
