About

If you are looking for something truly memorable and utterly unique - a skippered trip aboard an historic river launch could be just the tonic. A choice of two boats:

The 'Sir John Knill' waterbus

Our new waterbus is an electric, wheelchair friendly boat going between Bathampton and Bath on the Kennet and Avon canal every weekend between April and October, and more frequently during the school holidays. It holds up to 12 people.

It picks up from outside the George Pub, Bathampton, at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00 taking passengers to the Cheshire Cat cafe, Sydney Wharf (Bath Narrrow Boats) although requests stops can be made for Folly Bridge and Sydney Gardens for the Holburne Museum.

It returns from Sydney Wharf at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00.

It is ideal for leisure activities by the canal, for instance take a 45 minute walk in one direction then travel back in comfort. Or for an alternative bus service into Bath. Also perfect for families as it is buggy friendly as well.

The prices are:

One way - adults £5.00, children 4-10 £2.50, carers with wheelchairs £2.50, families- 2 adults 2 children £12.50, seniors £4.00

Returns are available: adults £9.00/ children& carers £4.50/Seniors £8.00, families £24.00

Loyalty cards are also available.

It is an ideal opportunity to discover this quieter but most beautiful and interesting part of Bath, and also being user friendly for people with different abilities, an opportunity not always available.

Also available for private charter during normal times for 90 minute trips, ideal for hen parties, families or groups of people with similar abilities, return or with a break at Bathampton perhaps. £75 for a one way trip, £150 for a return.

The boat has an interesting history in that she was found as a wreck and about to be burnt as firewood, rescued by Jenkyn who paid £1.00 for her and then brought to Bath to be restored for a few more! She was built on the Thames in 1890 and is now the oldest electric launch in existence and has been lovingly restored by him back to how she was then. Please see our website for the finer details of her history. We are very proud of her and personally take you on every trip – however formal or relaxed. Our objective is simple: to make sure you have the very best experience whether that is laughter, romance, celebration or just a fantastic get together.

Evening cruises are now available.
