Coach Parking and Drop-Off
There are no facilities for coach parking in central Bath.
Bath provides on street coach bays for coaches wanting to drop off and pick up visitors close to visitor attractions in the city centre. There are also a couple of short stay bays for coaches wanting to stay up to 90 minutes. All coaches staying for longer than 90 minutes should park at Odd Down Coach Park. See a map of coach bays here
The Riverside Coach Park closed on 2nd November 2020, which was required to facilitate the development of Bath Quays North, the Council's flagship regeneration project, that will create a new business district providing much needed high-quality offices and new jobs.
A new coach park has already been provided at Odd Down Park & Ride, providing 29 spaces for coaches to layover once they have dropped off in the city centre.
Coach drop off/pick up
Coach drop off/pick-up will be re-provided on-street at Pulteney Road and Royal Avenue. Three bays will be provided at each location and will operate between 8am and 7pm. Waiting time is limited to 20 minutes (no return within one hour), except for two bays on Pulteney Road, which will be limited to 90 minutes waiting (no return within three hours). View a map here
This will increase the existing provision at:
- Terrace Walk – close to major attractions and the busiest drop-off/pick-up location, ten minutes maximum waiting, capacity for two large coaches
- North Parade – opposite Terrace Walk, ten minutes maximum waiting, capacity for two large coaches
- James St West
These locations have been selected as they are within walking distance of key visitor attractions and are already used during Bath Christmas Market and match days for Bath Rugby.
Once the passengers have disembarked from the coach the driver should follow the signs to Odd Down Coach Park where there is a large and secure site for coach parking.
Booking for Bath Christmas Market coach parking is now live!
When you make your booking you will be able to choose to use either Royal Avenue or the alternative site at Pulteney Road as your drop-off/pick-up location. Coaches will need to use the same location within a single booking to both drop-off and pick-up passengers. There will be directional signage and marshals to help direct your driver to/from the drop-off/pick-up locations to the all-day parking locations. Royal Avenue will be operated with a one way system - with access from Marlborough Lane only.
The booking charges are based on the number of seats on your coach as well as the day on which you wish to attend the Christmas Market. These charges are:
• Monday or Tuesday - £1 per seat for the seating capacity of the vehicle which is being booked.
• Wednesday, Thursday or Friday - £1.25 per seat for the seating capacity of the vehicle which is being booked.
• Saturday or Sunday - £1.50 per seat for the seating capacity of the vehicle which is being booked.
These charges cover two 30 minute slots at your chosen drop-off/pick-up location, it also covers the cost of parking at one of the marshalled all day parking locations.
