Jane Hunt (soprano)
Din Ghani (lute)

The Netherlands in the time of the Brueghels was pivotal for Renaissance music, with composers of the Franco-Flemish school emerging as key players across Europe. Antwerp’s printers were active in publishing some of their work to a popular audience, while politics and religion also brought interesting musical inputs. Join Jane and Din in exploring this lively scene from the perspective of a typical performing ensemble: just a voice and a lute. Lutenist and luthier Din Ghani formed Musicke in the Ayre in 2012 to explore the huge repertoire for voice and lute from the 16th and 17th centuries, working with a growing band of singers from across the country to actively champion this repertoire. Jane Hunt is well-known locally as a soloist and member of the Paragon Singers and Operaletta, and has given over a dozen recitals with Din as a key member of his Bath-based team.
