About

A trio of chamber works by master composers

HAYDN String Quartet in D major Op 20 No 4
BEETHOVEN String Quartet No 11 in F minor Op 95 'Serioso'
RAVEL String Quartet in F major

Prize winners at numerous international competitions including the Concert Artists Guild International Competition, the Carducci Quartet is internationally acclaimed as one of the most accomplished and versatile ensembles of today. Returning to the WMC stage following their 2023 BBC Proms debut, their programme features the fourth of Joseph Haydn's Sun quartets, widely considered to be the first great string quartet masterworks. Haydn's elegance is balanced with the intensity of Ludwig van Beethoven's Quartetto Serioso and the brilliance of Maurice Ravel's sole work for string quartet.
