Opus Anglicanum’s final Wells Cathedral concert under the directorship of founder, John Rowlands-Pritchard, featuring beautiful music and readings for the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the beautiful candlelit surroundings of Wells Cathedral Quire. A celebration of the Annunciation in the music of Byrd, Obrecht, Greek Orthodox Chant, Gregorian Chant, J S Bach and Tallis. A narrative context is from Angelus Silesius, Denise Levertov, Elizabeth Jennings, Edwin Muir, and Mother Julian of Norwich, and a description of the 14th century Annunciation ceremony in Padua Cathedral

Wells is easily reached by both car and public transport. Regular bus services to and from Wells operate from Bristol, Bath and other destinations locally. There are several car parks near the Cathedral and a wide range of local cafes, restaurants and bars to help you to make a day of it, including our own Cathedral café.
