Experience the wonders of Japanese tea ceremony in the Museum galleries with Yukie Williams.

Set in the Museum of East Asian Art's tranquil gallery space, this intimate demonstration will give you an insight into the cultural traditions surrounding Japanese tea ceremony and the chance to taste Japanese matcha tea. Participants will also have the chance to explore the galleries and discover the museum's exquisite collections, including tea-ware from East and Southeast Asia.

Yukie has over 10 years' experience practicing tea ceremony, known as sadō(茶道), inspired by her early years in Japan. You will learn about the details and meaning behind each step of the Japanese tea ceremony.

This event is suitable for age 13 and above.
