About

The Forever Friends Appeal are excited to launch their very first Newfoundland Dog Rescue Day in association with Newfound Friends!

Take the plunge! Experience a water rescue by a 14 stone hero & support patients at the RUH.

This popular event will take place at Portishead Marina, Bristol and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience an “at sea” Newfoundland Dog Rescue. The event is run by the incredible team at Newfound Friends & their well trained and beautiful Newfound Dogs, on behalf of The Forever Friends Appeal.

You can make a real difference and help patients and their families at the RUH by taking part in this truly exhilarating, once in a lifetime event. You will be suited up, taken out in the marina by boat and then asked to jump in, but don’t worry, it won’t be long before the Newfoundland dogs show off their amazing water-rescue skills and tow you safely back to the boat! Non swimmers are welcome (as life-jackets are worn). All we ask is for a £30 registration fee to secure your place and for you to pledge to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship money to take part – The Appeal’s Events Team will help you with fundraising advice and ideas. All the money you raise will help us transform care for patients and their families at the RUH.

Please note that there are limited places for this event, so if you would like to take part, be quick to register! If you can’t take part in the event, then we’d love to have your support at the marina on the day!
