The wartime correspondence between an Oscar-nominated actress and her explorer husband are revealed at the Ustinov Studio later in the month, as they are read by the couple’s daughter.

Posting Letters to the Moon is the romantic, funny and very touching portrait of life during the early 1940s, as revealed through the letters between Celia Johnson, star of Brief Encounter, and the explorer and writer Peter Fleming, (the brother of James Bond creator Ian Fleming), who was working for military intelligence in the Far East and India during the war – “as far away as the moon”.

The letters are full of love, warmth and backstage gossip, and in this production, are read by the couple’s own daughter, Lucy Fleming, who has recently starred as Miranda in The Archers, among many other roles in a long and distinguished career. She is joined in Posting Letters To The Moon by her real life husband Simon Williams, who also plays her character’s husband Justin in The Archers.
