Stephen Anderton will outline the great gardeners and how they have taken an idea and developed it in a new manner relevant to their times, creating some of the world’s most exciting gardens. Eight pages are devoted to the great exponent of the English landscape garden, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, in Stephen Anderton’s recently published ‘Lives of the Great Gardeners’ that also profiles the likes of US President Thomas Jefferson, Claude Monet, William Kent, Humphrey Repton, Vita Sackville-West, Rosemary Verey and Christopher Bradley-Hole, to name a few.
