The Rebellious Sounds Archive

No. 1 Royal Crescent
The Rebellious Sounds Archive

The Rebellious Sounds Archive is creating the very first oral archive of women’s activism stories from across the South West. With an interactive touring listening booth that houses the oral stories, this insightful campaign aims to collect over 40 women’s stories, including women from Bath.

Having received national acknowledgement and exhibiting in Parliament this summer, the Rebellious Sounds Archive commemorates the centenary of the first voting rights for some women in the UK in a unique style.

The Rebellious Sounds Archive has been developed by Josie Sutcliffe and Natalie McGrath, Co - Founders of Dreadnought South West (DSW). DSW’s purpose is to advance the education of the public, and in particular but not exclusively to women and girls, in the role of women in society from both a historical and modern day perspective.
