Founded in 13thC and dissolved in 1539 since when it has been the home of the Talbot family. Medieval cloisters and 18thC Gothic hall. Sixteenth-century stable court. Home of William Henry Fox Talbot 19thC inventor of the photographic negative.
Lacock village and Abbey used as a location in TV and film productions of Wolfman, Pride and Prejudice, Cranford Chronicles, Emma and Harry Potter films.
