About

The architecture of Bath is world renowned for its beauty. In this workshop you will work with artist Duncan Harper to produce your own drawing of some of Bath's buildings, working in the iconic setting of the Royal Crescent. You'll be able to start by making exploratory drawings (outside, or inside if the weather is unfavourable) and continuing either to work on these or to develop them using a range of mark making materials, in order to create a personal response that captures the essence of the buildings of Bath.
This will be a very relaxed workshop, suitable for those who have some confidence in their skills and would like to respond to aspects of the local environment that capture their imagination.

Duration of workshop 3 hours.

Suitable for 16 years old and above.

What to bring: basic drawing materials will be provided however participants may wish to bring their own. A suggested list of materials is below. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for working outside. You may wish to bring your own camping chair for sitting outside although folding chairs will be available to borrow from the museum.

Tea and coffee will be available.

Note: The workshop space is accessible via lift, however if working outside please be aware the ground is uneven. If you have any access needs please let us know so we can support you in any way possible.

Suggested materials:
– cartridge paper pad (minimum A4)

– concertina sketchbook

– drawing board to rest on
