Our favourite romantic things to do in Bath and beyond

Horse drawn taxi serviceTo take in the sights what could be more memorable than a champagne balloon flight over Bath or a horse drawn carriage tour of the city.

If you fancy a day of pampering why not book a couples' treatment at Thermae Bath Spa or you can hire the stand-alone Cross Bath, fed by its own natural spring, for just the two of you.

Thermae Bath SpaThe Roman Baths is a must for most visitors and there are fascinating museums that tell the story of Bath's heyday like the Building of Bath Museum and The Jane Austen Centre, celebrating one of Bath's most famous residents. Number One Royal Crescent transports visitors back in time to see how a grand town house would have been decorated and furnished in the Georgian period.

During your visit make sure you take time out to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding Bath. For something different enjoy a boating trip on the River Avon, or admire Theatre Royal Baththe views on the Bath Skyline Walk. If you are looking for an intimate spot to pop the question, escape to Prior Park Landscape Garden with the beautiful Palladian bridge or see our other ideas for places to propose.

Finish the day with a show at the beautiful Georgian Theatre Royal and cuddle up in the back row of the Royal Circle or book a romantic candlelit dinner for two at one of Bath's superb restaurants.
