Bath Tourism Plus attracts top US agents to the city
9th November 2010
As part of its overseas marketing drive, Bath Tourism Plus has attracted 13 high calibre and influential travel agents from the USA to visit Bath. The visit will highlight the city as an alternative to London and other destinations in the UK, and will be key in encouraging the travel agents to include Bath in their itineraries and recommend the city to their customers.
The agents, who are all highly experienced travel professionals with proven business to the UK, will arrive in Bath today and stay for three days.
Working in partnership with Paull Tickner and Associates - who specialise in attracting American visitors to the UK - Bath Tourism Plus will showcase the city by providing a tour of various attractions, followed by a reception around the Roman Baths this evening. They will also meet the Mayor as part of their visit.
Marie Matthews, travel trade manager at Bath Tourism Plus, said: “The travel agents will only be visiting Bath while in the UK so we have a fantastic opportunity to promote our beautiful city. We’re really pleased to have seen an increase in American visitor numbers since a dip around 10 years ago. As this market brings such a huge economic benefit to the city, it’s really important to ensure that Bath remains a must-see destination for US travellers”.
